Dubai’s Fairmont The Palm continues full operations following a drone-debris incident on February 28 amid ongoing regional tensions. The incident caused minor damage and injuries to four people in a car park, but no guests or hotel staff were harmed.

Duncan O’Rourke, CEO of the Premium, Midscale, and Economy Division for Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific at Accor, confirmed: “Four individuals in the parking area were injured and transferred to medical facilities. Our thoughts are with them and their families. The hotel remains fully operational, and the safety and well-being of our guests and team members remain our top priority.”

Dubai authorities confirmed the incident in the Palm Jumeirah area, stating that emergency response teams were deployed immediately and the site secured.

Since February 28, Iran has reportedly been targeting the UAE and other Gulf countries with missiles and drones following attacks by Israel and the US on Iranian targets.

Omer Acar, CEO of Raffles & Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, added that the hotel remained open and fully operational throughout the incident. “As events continue to evolve, we are closely monitoring developments and taking all necessary precautionary measures in coordination with the relevant authorities. We are grateful for their swift response and ongoing support. Hotel teams remain vigilant, with established safety and security protocols fully in place.”

The Accor group has also maintained a flexible cancellation and modification policy for guests affected by the ongoing regional situation. Guests with bookings made on or before February 28, 2026, and scheduled arrivals up to March 15, 2026, can cancel non-refundable bookings for a full refund or modify their stay without penalty at the same hotel or at other Accor properties in the GCC, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Israel, and Pakistan.
