Heavy Traffic Congestion Causes Major Delays on Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Ittihad Street.

Dubai: Motorists commuting between Dubai and Sharjah on Monday morning are experiencing significant delays as increasing traffic volumes cause congestion across major highways connecting the two emirates.
Live traffic updates from Google Maps show slow-moving vehicles at several key locations along the main routes between Dubai and Sharjah, resulting in longer travel times for thousands of commuters.
The most severe congestion has been reported along Sheikh Zayed Road (E11) and sections of Al Ittihad Street, where traffic speeds have dropped considerably near the emirate border and surrounding industrial areas.
Drivers travelling towards Al Nahda, Al Taawun and central Sharjah are likely to encounter bumper-to-bumper traffic and extended journey times.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311) is also witnessing lengthy traffic queues, particularly in the northbound direction as motorists approach the Sharjah border.
Traffic congestion is also affecting several internal roads across Sharjah, particularly those leading towards busy areas such as Al Majaz and Al Khan. Major connecting roads and intersections are experiencing increased traffic volumes as vehicles divert from congested highways, resulting in slower journeys even after motorists exit the main routes.
For drivers seeking to avoid heavily congested roads, Emirates Road (E611) offers a potential alternative, with relatively smoother traffic movement compared to the main highway corridors. However, choosing this route could increase the overall travel distance depending on the destination.
Motorists are encouraged to monitor real-time traffic updates through navigation applications before beginning their journeys, allow additional time for possible delays and remain patient while driving through busy stretches.
