Swift action at Terminal 1 results in recovery of a lost handbag containing silver bullion.

Dubai Police carried out a swift recovery operation at Terminal 1 of Dubai International Airport after a routine patrol led to the discovery of a lost handbag containing silver bars worth approximately Dh2 million. The valuables were successfully traced and returned to their rightful owner.
The incident occurred when an Asian passenger informed a foot patrol officer in the departure hall that he had misplaced a black handbag shortly before boarding his flight.
Following the report, the operations room of Dubai Police immediately activated search procedures and reviewed the passenger’s movements within Dubai International Airport.
Multiple foot patrol teams were then deployed across key areas of the terminal to locate the missing bag.
After an extensive search, officers recovered the handbag and carried out a verification check. Inside, they found silver bars with an estimated value of around Dh2 million.
Dubai Police confirmed that ownership documents were verified before the recovered item was officially returned to the passenger, in line with standard legal procedures and accompanied by an official receipt.
The traveller expressed appreciation for the swift response and professionalism shown by the General Department of Airport Security teams.
The incident underscores Dubai Police’s ongoing emphasis on rapid response, operational efficiency, and the protection of passenger belongings at one of the world’s busiest airports, Dubai International Airport.
