Dubai Duty Free donates Dh7 million to Edge of Life campaign to fight childhood hunger

Dubai Duty Free has contributed Dh7 million to the Edge of Life campaign, joining a growing list of supporters working to rescue five million children from hunger worldwide.

Launched during Ramadan by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the campaign aims to raise at least Dh1 billion to support initiatives tackling childhood hunger globally.

Dubai Duty Free’s donation comes amid widespread participation in the campaign, which operates under the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) and seeks to address one of the gravest global threats to children’s rights. Childhood hunger undermines healthy growth and stability in vulnerable communities, making the campaign both a humanitarian and moral imperative.

The Edge of Life campaign is being implemented in partnership with UNICEFUnited Nations agency for children”], Save the Children”], Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) Action Against Hunger.

Access to nutrition
Dubai Duty Free Managing Director, Ramesh Cidambi, said the campaign exemplifies the UAE’s commitment to empowering underprivileged communities and ensuring children have access to nutrition and a dignified life.

“Dubai Duty Free’s contribution to this Ramadan campaign reflects our dedication to supporting philanthropic and humanitarian efforts launched by the UAE,” Cidambi said. “This initiative is particularly important given the global challenges surrounding access to food and the funding required to implement sustainable programs.”
