New diploma aims to strengthen oversight, accountability, and government auditing skills.

Dubai: Dubai’s Financial Audit Authority has launched the fourth edition of its Government Auditor Diploma Programme, reinforcing efforts to enhance oversight standards and develop a pipeline of skilled national talent across public sector entities.

The initiative, created in partnership with the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government, is designed to equip participants with both technical knowledge and practical experience.

Emphasis on real-world application
The programme blends academic learning with hands-on training in government entities, providing participants with direct exposure to actual audit environments while developing the technical skills essential for contemporary oversight roles.

Participants will also receive structured guidance to obtain internationally recognized certifications, supporting a wider effort to align local audit practices with global standards.

Abdulrahman Al Hareb, Director General of Dubai’s Financial Audit Authority, stated that the programme is part of a broader institutional effort to enhance governance frameworks.

“The launch of the fourth edition of the programme is a key component of the institutional framework spearheaded by the Financial Audit Authority in Dubai to advance the government audit system, which we view as a fundamental pillar for promoting good governance, strengthening financial discipline, and ensuring the efficient management of public resources across the Government of Dubai.”

Raising standards across government entities
The programme aims to standardize audit practices and enhance the quality of financial reporting across all entities overseen by the Authority.

“The programme demonstrates the Authority’s commitment to a proactive legislative and regulatory approach that prioritises the professional development of national talent through clear standards and approved methodologies,” Al Hareb said.

“This strategy ensures the harmonisation of audit practices, increases compliance, and improves the reliability of financial reporting across entities under the Authority’s supervision.”

The initiative also supports wider policy frameworks aimed at enhancing transparency and accountability throughout the government ecosystem.

Building future-ready audit talent
The collaboration with the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government underscores a stronger focus on cultivating specialised capabilities within the public sector.

Dr. Ali bin Sebaa Al Marri, Executive President of the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG), stated that the programme is designed to equip participants with the skills needed to navigate evolving government requirements.

“The fourth edition of the ‘Professional Diploma – The Government Auditor’ programme, launched in partnership with the Financial Audit Authority in Dubai, represents a strategic step forward in our mission to develop specialised government capabilities.”

He added that the programme offers an integrated framework that supports both knowledge acquisition and operational effectiveness.

“The programme provides a comprehensive professional and knowledge framework, enabling participants to gain the insights and tools required to strengthen the government audit and control ecosystem.”

Supporting a stronger governance framework
The collaboration highlights a broader effort to build institutional capacity that promotes long-term efficiency and accountability across government operations.

“Our partnership with the Financial Audit Authority in Dubai underscores our shared commitment to providing an advanced training model that effectively bridges academic knowledge with practical application,” Al Marri said.

The programme is set to cultivate a new generation of auditors capable of operating at elevated standards, enhancing oversight functions, and reinforcing confidence in the management of public resources across Dubai’s government entities.
