Drivers in Abu Dhabi offered chance to remove eight black points for Dh800

Date:

Drivers who reach 24 black points can have their licence reinstated upon completing a rehabilitation programme.

Abu Dhabi: Drivers in Abu Dhabi with between eight and 23 traffic black points can have eight points removed from their records for Dh800 under a service being offered by Abu Dhabi Police at the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX).

The service is available through a dedicated Abu Dhabi Police platform at ADIHEX 2026, which is being held at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi until September 6.

Abu Dhabi Police said the initiative aims to make traffic services more accessible, encourage motorists to address violations and promote greater compliance with road safety regulations.

Drivers seeking to reduce their black points must register for the programme, pay the Dh800 fee and complete a rehabilitation course. Once all requirements are fulfilled, eight black points will be deducted from their traffic record.

The service is available to motorists who have accumulated between eight and 23 black points.

A separate programme is available for drivers who have reached the cumulative 24-point threshold and need to regain their driving licences. Eligible motorists must register, pay a Dh2,400 fee and complete a rehabilitation course for traffic-law offenders before their licences can be reinstated.

Abu Dhabi Police urged eligible drivers to make use of the temporary platform before the exhibition closes, saying the initiative supports its broader Smart Road Security strategic priority and ongoing efforts to enhance road safety.

ADIHEX 2026, now in its 23rd edition, opened on August 28 and runs until September 6. The exhibition features 15 sectors covering hunting, falconry, equestrian activities, outdoor pursuits and Emirati heritage.
