What is Cats all about?

Cats (musical) is based on the poetry of T.S. Eliot and is set during the mystical Jellicle Ball—a whimsical midnight gathering of cats on a scrapheap. At this event, the Jellicle tribe must choose which one among them will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and be granted a new life.

Each character is introduced through distinctive song and dance performances, from the flamboyant rockstar Rum Tum Tugger to the enigmatic magician Mr. Mistoffelees. At the emotional core of the story is Grizabella, the once-glamorous “Glamour Cat,” whose powerful performance of Memory moves the tribe and defines the musical’s most iconic moment.

Adding tension to the narrative is the shadowy presence of Macavity, the mysterious and elusive antagonist known as the “Napoleon of Crime.”

The entire production unfolds as a blend of storytelling, dance, and spectacle, all set during one unforgettable night at the Jellicle Ball.
