Companies encouraged to strengthen preparedness through staff training and routine emergency exercises.

The Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority has urged businesses and workplace operators to enhance preventive safety measures, ensuring fire protection systems are functioning properly and employees are equipped to handle emergency situations.

The authority highlighted the need for regular inspection and maintenance of fire alarms and firefighting equipment in accordance with approved safety standards. It also stressed that emergency exits must remain clearly identified and evacuation routes kept free from obstacles and stored materials.

The authority also encouraged employers to carry out regular emergency drills and provide staff with evacuation training to strengthen preparedness and minimise risks during emergencies.

The advisory comes as the authority continues its summer public safety campaign, highlighting that consistent compliance with safety requirements remains the first line of protection for safeguarding lives, property, and business operations.

Separately, Abu Dhabi Civil Defence reiterated that cooperation with public and private sector partners plays a key role in strengthening the emirate’s fire safety and protection framework.

The remarks were made during the authority’s First Partners Forum 2026, which brought together government bodies, property management firms, and fire protection contractors to strengthen collaboration, improve implementation processes, and enhance the quality of fire prevention and civil protection services.
