UAE minister warns that attacks on energy and transport hubs threaten the global economy.

ABU DHABI: Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, strongly condemned the targeting of—and threats against—civilian infrastructure and facilities in the region, including schools, universities, hospitals, desalination plants, energy sites, transportation hubs, and residential areas.

He emphasized that such actions represent a blatant and serious violation of established international law and are unacceptable and unjustifiable under any circumstances.

These attacks have caused civilian deaths and injuries, while spreading fear among millions across the region.

Sheikh Abdullah highlighted that targeting energy facilities, ports, airports, and international maritime routes as military objectives not only threatens individual states but also jeopardizes global economic stability, disrupts critical supply chains, and undermines both regional and international security.

Not a theatre of war
Sheikh Abdullah stressed that civilian infrastructure is not a battlefield, and targeting it represents a dangerous escalation and a red line that will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Sheikh Abdullah called for the immediate halt of these hostilities and the unconditional protection of civilian lives and infrastructure, warning of the serious consequences of such violations.
