OGold reaches 2 million users, reshaping digital gold and silver ownership in the UAE

Date:

Milestone highlights growing adoption of digital gold and silver, backed by secure holdings and flexible rewards.

Dubai: OGold, the UAE-based Shariah-compliant, gold- and silver-backed super app, has surpassed two million users, doubling its user base in just six months. The milestone marks a significant step in the company’s mission to make precious metals ownership more accessible to everyday consumers.

The growth reflects rising demand for secure, transparent and technology-driven alternatives to traditional gold and silver ownership, as consumers increasingly turn to digital financial solutions.

OGold aims to lower the barriers to owning precious metals by allowing users to buy, sell, save and redeem physically backed gold and silver through a single digital platform. The app offers round-the-clock access, with purchases starting from Dh1.

In addition to potential returns from movements in precious metals prices, users can earn extra gold and silver on eligible holdings, with annual rewards of up to 5% on both metals. For example, a holding of 100 grams of eligible gold could generate up to five additional grams over a year.

All gold and silver holdings are physically backed and stored securely in vaults. Customers can redeem their assets for physical bars and coins from internationally recognised brands, including SAM Precious Metals, Emirates Gold and PAMP. They can opt for home delivery or in-person collection.

The platform also provides company-level and individual-level insurance protection for customer holdings. Alongside its Shariah-compliant framework, these measures are intended to strengthen transparency, security and confidence in precious metals ownership.

OGold has also introduced the OGold Platinum Mastercard, which gives customers another way to access the value of their gold and silver holdings. Available in physical and virtual formats, the card connects traditional precious metals ownership with modern payment technology, offering greater flexibility in managing and accessing assets.

“Our vision has always been to make gold and silver accessible to everyone, transforming precious metals from traditional stores of wealth into an integral part of everyday financial life,” said Bandar Alothman, Founder of OGold.

“Reaching two million users is a strong validation of that vision and the trust our customers place in us. As we grow, we remain committed to redefining how people own, grow and access their gold and silver through innovation, transparency and accessibility.”

OGold’s expansion has also been supported by a growing network of strategic partners and technology collaborators, including Botim, Valura.ai, Mawarid Finance, Mastercard, NymCard and MoneyHash.

The partnerships have helped expand the platform’s capabilities, strengthen its market presence and support its growth in the UAE’s evolving digital financial services sector.

Building on the two-million-user milestone, OGold aims to further strengthen customer trust, enhance its digital precious metals offering and make gold and silver an accessible part of everyday financial life.
