UAE weather alert: Rain, strong winds and high humidity expected through Monday

Date:

Inland temperatures may hit 38°C on Saturday, with winds reaching 55km/h in mountainous areas.

Dubai: Some parts of the UAE could see rainfall on Saturday, October 31, as convective cloud formations develop over eastern and northern areas. Strong winds may also stir up dust, while inland temperatures could climb to 38°C, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

Elsewhere, conditions are expected to remain fair to partly cloudy. Southeasterly to northeasterly winds will be light to moderate, turning fresh to strong at times, particularly when cloud activity develops.

Wind speeds are forecast to range between 10 and 25km/h, reaching up to 35km/h along the coast, 45km/h inland and 55km/h in mountainous areas.

Temperatures are expected to reach 33°C to 37°C along the coast and islands, 35°C to 38°C in inland areas and 26°C to 32°C in the mountains.

Humidity levels could rise to 90 per cent in some coastal and inland locations. Conditions are expected to become humid overnight and into Sunday morning, with a chance of mist forming in some areas.

The Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea are both expected to remain slight.

Rain chances to continue on Sunday and Monday

Unsettled conditions are forecast to continue on Sunday, November 1, with convective clouds developing over eastern and northern parts of the country, potentially bringing further rainfall.

Winds will remain light to moderate, becoming fresh at times and potentially stirring up dust. Speeds could reach 40km/h.

Humidity is forecast to rise overnight and continue into Monday morning, with fog or mist potentially forming in some coastal and inland areas. Sea conditions are expected to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.

Similar weather is expected on Monday, November 2, with further rainfall possible over eastern and northern parts of the country.

Southeasterly winds may shift to northwesterly, becoming fresh at times and reaching speeds of up to 40km/h, particularly during periods of cloud activity. These winds could also stir up dust.

Humid conditions are likely to persist overnight and into Tuesday morning, with fog or mist possible in some coastal and inland locations.

Weather expected to improve from Tuesday

Conditions are forecast to become fair to partly cloudy on Tuesday, November 3, with no rainfall expected in the NCM’s forecast for the day.

Humidity will remain high overnight and into Wednesday morning, creating the possibility of fog or mist in some coastal and inland areas.

Winds are expected to be light to moderate, occasionally becoming fresh and reaching speeds of up to 35km/h. The Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea will both remain slight.

Similar conditions are forecast for Wednesday, November 4, with fair to partly cloudy skies and humid weather expected overnight and into Thursday morning.

Fog or mist may develop in some coastal and inland areas, while wind speeds could reach 35km/h.

The Arabian Gulf may experience slight to moderate sea conditions, while the Oman Sea is expected to remain slight.

The NCM said the weather pattern is being influenced by an extension of a surface low-pressure system, accompanied by an upper-level low-pressure system.
