New Khorfakkan Road Project to Feature Specialised Care Centres and Landscaped Gardens.

Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has given his approval for the development of an integrated care city along Khorfakkan Road, designed to provide specialised support and services for senior citizens, women and children.

The proposed development will bring together a range of care, rehabilitation and community facilities within a single location, with dedicated spaces for men and women.

According to the approved plans, the city will include two elderly care homes, two physiotherapy centres, two Al Rushd oases and two childcare homes, with separate facilities catering to male and female beneficiaries.

In addition to these specialised services, the project will feature a dedicated women’s protection centre, a community centre and an events square intended to support social and recreational activities.

The development will also incorporate landscaped gardens, a mosque and other community amenities aimed at creating a comfortable and accessible environment for residents and visitors.

To accommodate those using the facilities, a total of 390 parking spaces will be provided across the development.

The announcement was made during the Direct Line programme, which airs on Sharjah Radio and Television.

In a separate directive, Sheikh Dr Sultan also ordered the establishment of a dedicated tower and recreational park for women in Kalba.

The proposed women-only facilities are intended to offer greater privacy, comfort and opportunities for leisure and recreation in a dedicated environment.

The proposed development is designed to offer women a more private alternative to Kalba’s popular Clock Tower landmark, which regularly attracts large numbers of visitors, including both men and women.

The new women-only facility will provide a dedicated recreational environment where visitors can relax, take part in leisure activities and enjoy scenic views with greater privacy and comfort.

The initiative aims to address the growing need for recreational spaces specifically designed for women, ensuring they have access to facilities that cater to their preferences while offering a more peaceful and exclusive setting.
