UAE Weather Alert: Rain Possible for Five Days as Winds Reach 50km/h Starting Friday

Date:

Rainfall expected in parts of eastern and western UAE, with strong, dust-raising winds reaching speeds of up to 50km/h today.

Abu Dhabi: Several parts of the UAE may witness rainfall over five consecutive days, from Friday, October 23, through Tuesday, October 27, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM). The forecast also warns of strong winds reaching speeds of up to 50km/h, along with possible fog and mist in certain coastal and inland areas.

The NCM predicts periods of unstable weather across the country, although conditions are expected to remain mostly fair to partly cloudy. On Friday and Saturday afternoons, convective clouds may form over eastern and western regions, increasing the likelihood of scattered showers.

Friday is expected to start with humid weather across some coastal and inland parts of the UAE, with early morning mist possible in certain locations.

Weather conditions will remain generally fair to partly cloudy throughout the day. However, convective clouds may form over eastern and western areas during the afternoon, increasing the chances of rainfall.

Southeasterly winds are forecast to gradually shift northwesterly, with speeds ranging between 10 and 25km/h. Gusts could intensify to 50km/h during cloud development, potentially causing blowing dust and reduced visibility.

Sea conditions are expected to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

Similar weather is anticipated on Saturday, October 24, with humidity during the early morning hours and possible fog or mist over coastal and inland regions.

Convective cloud formation in eastern and western areas during the afternoon may produce scattered showers. Winds could again strengthen to 50km/h, raising dust in exposed areas.

The Arabian Gulf is expected to experience slight to moderate seas, while conditions in the Sea of Oman will remain slight.

Rainfall Chances Move Towards Northern and Eastern UAE from Sunday

From Sunday, October 25, the likelihood of rainfall is expected to shift towards northern and eastern parts of the country as convective clouds develop over these regions.

The morning may bring humid conditions, accompanied by possible fog or mist in some locations, before skies become generally fair to partly cloudy.

Winds are forecast to remain light to moderate for most of the day, blowing at speeds between 10 and 25km/h.

However, gusts could reach up to 50km/h near developing convective clouds, potentially stirring up dust and temporarily reducing visibility in affected areas.

Sea conditions on Sunday are expected to be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf, while the Sea of Oman will remain slight.

On Monday, October 26, unstable weather conditions are forecast to persist, with convective clouds potentially bringing showers to northern and eastern parts of the UAE.

Some coastal and inland areas may also experience fog or mist during the early morning hours. Winds could strengthen to 50km/h during periods of increased cloud activity, potentially causing blowing dust and reduced visibility.

Meanwhile, seas are expected to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

By Tuesday, October 27, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) predicts a continuation of similar weather conditions, although wind speeds are expected to decrease slightly compared with previous days.

Northern and eastern regions may continue to experience scattered rainfall, while humid conditions could result in early morning fog or mist across certain coastal and inland locations.

Winds are forecast to blow at speeds ranging from 10 to 25km/h, with occasional gusts reaching 40km/h near convective clouds. These stronger winds may stir up dust and temporarily affect visibility.

Sea conditions are expected to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
