Four-Time Champions League Winner Clarence Seedorf Begins a New Coaching Chapter in Brazil.

Dubai: Dubai-based football legend Clarence Seedorf has been named the new head coach of Brazilian football club Corinthians, marking his return to management after a seven-year absence.
The former AC Milan and Real Madrid midfielder, who resides in Dubai with his Canadian-Iranian wife, Sophia Makramati, has signed a contract with the Brazilian side that will run until the end of 2027.
The 49-year-old Dutchman takes over at a challenging time for Corinthians, who currently occupy 16th place in Brazil’s top-flight league standings, just one position above the relegation zone, with eight matches remaining in the season.
Seedorf Takes Charge Amid Corinthians’ Struggles
Seedorf succeeds Fernando Diniz, the former interim manager of Brazil’s national football team, who was dismissed last week following a disappointing run of seven consecutive league defeats.
The appointment marks Seedorf’s first managerial role since leaving the Cameroon national team in 2019.
His previous coaching experience includes managing Italian giants AC Milan, Chinese club Shenzhen FC and Spanish side Deportivo La Coruña.
Speaking after his appointment, Seedorf described the opportunity as both a privilege and a significant responsibility.
He expressed his determination to give his best to the club and develop a competitive team capable of fighting for every opportunity and result on the pitch.
Former Manchester United Stars Among Seedorf’s Squad

The Dutch football icon will work with a Corinthians squad that includes former Manchester United players Memphis Depay and Jesse Lingard.
With the club battling near the bottom of the league table, Seedorf’s immediate priority will be to improve performances, secure crucial points and guide Corinthians away from the relegation zone.
His arrival brings extensive international football experience to the Brazilian club as it looks to reverse its recent poor run of results.
A Legendary Career With Four Champions League Titles
Seedorf retired from professional football in 2014 after an illustrious playing career that established him as one of European football’s most accomplished midfielders.
He won the UEFA Champions League four times, lifting the prestigious trophy with three different clubs.
His European triumphs include:
- Ajax: One Champions League title.
- Real Madrid: One Champions League title.
- AC Milan: Two Champions League titles.
Seedorf remains the only footballer in history to have won the Champions League with three different clubs.
His latest appointment at Corinthians represents another chapter in his coaching career, as the four-time European champion looks to bring his experience and winning mentality to Brazilian football.
