UAE Hijri Calendar Website Features Prayer Timings, Islamic Month Dates, Lunar Cycles, Seasonal Changes and Astronomical Events.

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre has introduced an interactive UAE Hijri calendar on its official website, allowing Muslims to conveniently access prayer timings, Islamic calendar dates, and information about religious, national and international occasions.
The initiative forms part of the centre’s responsibilities as the official authority responsible for preparing and publishing the UAE Hijri calendar, determining prayer schedules and establishing the beginning of Islamic months across the country.
The newly launched digital calendar offers an interactive experience that enables users to explore dates according to both the Hijri and Gregorian calendars.
Through the online platform, residents and visitors can access important calendar information from anywhere and at any time, making it easier to stay informed about Islamic dates and significant events.
Interactive Calendar Highlights Islamic Heritage and Astronomical Knowledge
Beyond providing calendar information and daily prayer schedules, the UAE Hijri Calendar website features a wide range of educational and cultural resources.
The platform includes information about the beginning of Hijri months, lunar cycles, celestial risings, seasonal changes and astronomical phenomena associated with the Islamic calendar.
These resources highlight the UAE’s traditional knowledge of astronomy and its connection to the natural environment.
By making this information available digitally, the centre aims to preserve important aspects of Emirati cultural heritage while increasing public awareness of the historical knowledge associated with the Hijri calendar.
Smart Application and Publications Offer Additional Resources
The UAE Hijri Calendar initiative also includes a dedicated smart application, providing another convenient way for users to access calendar-related information.
In addition, the platform features a publication titled ‘The Hijri Calendar’, which contains a collection of useful religious and astronomical information.
The book provides prayer schedules, tidal timings, selected supplications and invocations, as well as explanations of the significance and virtues of different Hijri months and their associated occasions.
Another publication, ‘Al Durur wa Al Tawali’, explores traditional Emirati knowledge related to astronomy, seasonal patterns and environmental conditions.
Its contents cover subjects such as seasons, horoscopes, constellations, wind patterns, maritime conditions and the different phases of the Moon.
The publication also examines how lunar movements relate to tidal changes, documenting knowledge that has historically played an important role in the UAE’s cultural and maritime traditions.
Together, these resources support efforts to preserve and share traditional knowledge about celestial observations, lunar phases and their relationship with the local environment.
Both publications can be accessed through the UAE Hijri Calendar website, while physical copies are also available at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Library.
The initiative combines modern digital services with cultural preservation, offering users a comprehensive resource for Islamic dates, prayer timings and traditional astronomical knowledge.
