Dubai Police’s Longstanding Support for Marwa’s Family Dates Back to Her Father’s Service in 1983 and Continued After the Loss of Both Parents.

Dubai: Dubai Police has extended its longstanding support to a Sudanese family with whom it has maintained close ties for more than four decades. The latest assistance follows the tragic death of Marwa, a Sudanese woman who passed away while giving birth to twins just a few weeks ago.
Following her death, Dubai Police stepped in to help her grieving family by providing employment opportunities for her husband and younger sister, as confirmed by. Marwa had been employed at the Dubai Police Health Centre since May 2016 and was the primary financial provider for her family.
Her unexpected passing left the family facing considerable financial difficulties, particularly as the rental agreement for her residence in Ajman had also expired.
Meanwhile, Marwa’s newborn twins are being cared for by her eldest sister, who lives in Abu Dhabi and already has five children of her own. She is now responsible for raising seven children, including the two newborns.
Dubai Police stated that its assistance goes beyond employment opportunities. The organisation continues to maintain regular communication with the family, monitor their wellbeing and provide emotional and social support during this difficult period.
A Family Connection Spanning More Than Four Decades
The relationship between Dubai Police and Marwa’s family dates back to 1983, when her father, Sergeant Ahmed Al Amin Bakhit, joined the General Department of Criminal Investigation.
He served with Dubai Police until his death in 1992 while spending a holiday with his family in Sudan. His passing left behind his wife and three young daughters.
Recognising the family’s circumstances, Dubai Police offered employment to his widow, enabling her to provide financial stability for her children while preserving the family’s longstanding association with the organisation.
Years later, when Marwa’s mother developed health complications, Dubai Police assisted with arrangements for her medical treatment overseas. Unfortunately, she passed away in March 2016 while receiving treatment.
In May 2016, just two months after her mother’s death, Marwa joined the Dubai Police Health Centre and assumed responsibility for financially supporting her family.
During the same year, the family also benefited from financial assistance provided through the organisation’s social solidarity fund.
Dubai Police remembered Marwa as a hardworking and compassionate employee who demonstrated professionalism, dedication and strong personal values while balancing her professional duties with family responsibilities.
Following her death, the organisation has once again stepped forward to assist the family, this time by helping her husband and younger sister secure employment and rebuild financial stability.
Hundreds Gather to Pay Their Final Respects
Marwa’s death also prompted an overwhelming show of community support, with hundreds of residents from different parts of the UAE attending her funeral prayers at Al Qusais Cemetery Mosque in Dubai on September 25.
According to an earlier report by, the large turnout followed a social media appeal encouraging members of the public to attend the funeral and support the grieving family.
The appeal was circulated by Janaza UAE and quickly gained attention, bringing together mourners from several emirates.
Marwa’s friend Aya told that the gathering was so large that the mosque’s prayer hall could not accommodate everyone, forcing some mourners to offer their prayers outside.
Residents travelled considerable distances to pay their respects and express solidarity with Marwa’s family.
Reflecting on the extraordinary community response, Aya said, “We really felt like Marwa was so blessed that the whole UAE became her family.”
The continued involvement of Dubai Police, together with the compassion demonstrated by residents across the country, reflects a longstanding commitment to supporting families during times of hardship and loss.
