Several international carriers are gradually restoring UAE services, although some airlines continue to operate reduced schedules or maintain temporary suspensions.
- Air Astana has resumed flights connecting Almaty and Astana with Dubai, while Philippine Airlines has restored its Dubai-Manila service.
- Air France has suspended flights to Dubai and Riyadh until October 24.
- Cathay Pacific has cancelled passenger services to Dubai and Riyadh through January 31, 2027.
- Singapore Airlines flights SQ494 from Singapore to Dubai and SQ495 from Dubai to Singapore remain cancelled until December 1.
- Wizz Air has postponed selected Abu Dhabi routes that were originally due to begin in late October until January 10, 2027. The airline cited the latest EASA security assessment, the continued closure of Iraqi airspace, longer flight routings and additional refuelling requirements.
- Lufthansa Group services to Abu Dhabi operated by Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines and Edelweiss remain suspended through October 24. Eurowings services to Abu Dhabi are also suspended through the same date.
International travel advisories
Several countries continue to advise their citizens to exercise caution when travelling to the UAE amid the changing regional security and aviation situation.
The UK has removed its broader advice against all but essential travel to the UAE. However, its guidance continues to highlight the possibility of flight cancellations and airspace disruptions, as well as the unpredictable nature of the regional security situation.
The US continues to classify the UAE at Level 3 — Reconsider Travel, citing risks associated with terrorism and armed conflict.
Australia has lowered its advice for the UAE from “Do Not Travel” to “Reconsider your need to travel”, while Canada advises visitors to exercise a high degree of caution in the UAE and several other Gulf countries.
The European Union Aviation Safety Agency’s conflict-zone information bulletin has also been extended until November 16. Operators have been warned against flying in specified areas that include the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
What travellers should do
Passengers travelling from Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Sharjah can take several precautions to reduce the impact of potential disruption:
- Check the latest flight status before leaving home, even if the booking remains confirmed.
- Arrive at the airport at least three hours before departure, unless the airline advises otherwise.
- flydubai passengers departing from Dubai should allow around four hours.
- Complete online check-in before travelling to the airport where available.
- Build additional time into the journey for traffic, security checks, immigration and other airport procedures.
- Make sure contact details registered with the airline are up to date so disruption alerts can be received.
- Be prepared for possible last-minute delays, cancellations or schedule adjustments.
- Follow official airline and airport updates for the latest information.
UAE flight situation remains fluid
The planned return of British Airways and other international carriers, together with the gradual restoration of Lufthansa Group services, indicates that air connectivity to and from the UAE is recovering.
However, cancellations and delays reported on October 7 show that disruption has not completely eased. Continued changes to Tel Aviv services and international travel advisories are also contributing to uncertainty for some passengers.
Travellers should therefore continue checking their flight status close to departure rather than assuming that a previously confirmed service will operate according to its original schedule.
