Abu Dhabi/Dubai: The UAE Fuel Price Committee announced new petrol and diesel rates for October 2026 on Wednesday, with prices across all fuel categories increasing from October 1.

Amitabh Bachchan praises Shah Rukh Khan’s determination

Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan has praised Shah Rukh Khan for his determination and ability to overcome challenges, highlighting how the superstar’s never-give-up attitude has inspired those around him.

Bachchan spoke about Khan during a conversation with actor Rajkummar Rao on a recent episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18. Rajkummar also reflected on how Shah Rukh Khan’s journey to success motivated him during his early days in Mumbai.

flydubai says flight-deck altercation led to incident

Dubai-based airline flydubai has confirmed details of an incident involving a flight travelling from Dubai to Israel on Wednesday.

The airline said an altercation occurred on the flight deck of FZ 1073, which was operating from Dubai International Airport (DXB) to Ben Gurion International Airport (TLV) on September 30. The aircraft landed safely and passengers were reported to be safe.

Nora Fatehi joins Rajinikanth in ‘Jailer 2’ song ‘Bindaas’

Dubai: Nora Fatehi has made her return to Tamil cinema with an energetic dance number in Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Jailer 2. The movie’s fourth single, Bindaas, was released on Wednesday.

The lyric video shows Fatehi dressed in a glamorous gold outfit as she performs the upbeat track alongside a group of dancers. Rajinikanth also makes a brief appearance in the video.

Dubai-bound Filipina arrested at Manila airport

Dubai: A 41-year-old Filipino woman travelling to Dubai was arrested at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 on September 27 after immigration checks reportedly identified an outstanding warrant linked to an alias.

Officials from the Philippine Bureau of Immigration intercepted the passenger before handing her over to NAIA Police Station 3. Airport police then coordinated with the Manila Police District’s District Investigation and Detection Management Division Crime Investigation Section (DIDMD CIS) to execute the warrant.

UAE flights today: Delays, cancellations and schedule changes

Travellers in the UAE have been advised to check their flight status before leaving for the airport on Saturday, as delays have been reported at Dubai International Airport, Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah International Airport amid renewed regional tensions.

Airlines continue to operate, although schedules remain subject to changes. Flydubai and Air Arabia have reported cancellations and adjustments on several regional routes. Emirates and Etihad Airways are continuing their services, but some individual flights could still face delays or schedule revisions.

Kapil Sharma returns with ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ Season 5

Dubai: Kapil Sharma is returning to Netflix for the fifth season of The Great Indian Kapil Show, with Ajay Devgn and the cast of Drishyam: The Conclusion appearing in the season opener.

The new season premiered on September 26 at 8pm, with fresh episodes scheduled to stream every Saturday. The show returns after a six-month break, with Sharma once again joined by Sunil Grover, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Archana Puran Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu.

Saudi Arabia clarifies flydubai emergency landing

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior has issued a clarification regarding the emergency landing of a flydubai aircraft at Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Tabuk on September 30.

The ministry said the relevant authorities responded after an emergency was declared aboard flydubai flight FZ1073 and granted the aircraft permission to make an emergency landing.

Rakul Preet Singh linked to Income Tax searches in Mumbai

Dubai: Bollywood actor Rakul Preet Singh is among those linked to Income Tax Department searches carried out at 12 locations in Mumbai over suspected financial irregularities related to film transactions, according to reports.

Teams from the Mumbai Income Tax Department conducted the searches at locations also linked to film producer Vashu Bhagnani and production company Panorama Studios. Officials are reportedly reviewing documents, financial records and information concerning alleged overseas transactions.

Pakistan shifts to e-passports from October 15

Dubai: Pakistan will stop issuing machine-readable passports (MRPs) from October 15, 2026, marking the completion of its transition to e-passports for new applicants in Pakistan and overseas.

The change has raised questions among existing passport holders, including whether valid machine-readable passports need to be replaced before October 15 and what travellers should do once their current passports expire.
