Lufthansa, SWISS, Wizz Air and Singapore Airlines Set to Resume Dubai Flights Before 2027.
Dubai: Air Canada has extended the suspension of its flights to and from Dubai until the end of March 2027, the airline announced last week.
The decision comes as several international carriers prepare to restore UAE services during the final months of 2026, while others continue to postpone their return amid uncertainty surrounding the regional situation.
In its latest travel update issued on September 24, Air Canada confirmed that services to and from Dubai International Airport (DXB) would remain cancelled through the end of March 2027, citing the ongoing situation in the Middle East.
Air Canada initially suspended its Dubai services on March 2 following the outbreak of the US-Iran conflict.
The carrier subsequently extended the suspension several times, with its latest update on September 24 confirming that flights to and from Dubai will remain cancelled until the end of March 2027.
Air Canada’s decision comes as international airlines adopt different timelines for restoring services to the UAE.
Air Astana, Philippine Airlines, Lufthansa, SWISS, Wizz Air, Singapore Airlines, Eurowings, British Airways, Austrian Airlines and Air France have announced plans to resume Dubai or Abu Dhabi services between October and December 2026.
Meanwhile, Cathay Pacific, United Airlines, Luxair, Finnair and Virgin Atlantic are among the carriers whose planned returns to Dubai extend into 2027.
The staggered resumption of services reflects how airlines continue to assess operating conditions across the region, with aviation insurance among the factors influencing some decisions.
Dubai Airports CEO Paul Griffiths has previously said that some international carriers were facing difficulties securing insurance coverage for operations in the region.
Airlines returning to the UAE in 2026
Despite the continued suspension of some international services, several airlines have announced plans to return to the UAE before the end of 2026.
- Air Astana: Flights from Almaty and Astana to Dubai are scheduled to resume from October 1-2.
- Philippine Airlines: Non-stop Manila-Dubai services are due to begin on October 2.
- Air France: Dubai services are scheduled to resume on October 13.
- Wizz Air: Dubai services are expected to restart around October 24-25, with Abu Dhabi operations planned for late October.
- Singapore Airlines: SQ494 and SQ495 services to and from Dubai are scheduled to resume on October 24.
- Lufthansa: Dubai-Frankfurt and Dubai-Munich services are expected to restart from October 25.
- SWISS: Dubai-Zurich flights are scheduled to resume from October 27.
- Eurowings: Dubai services from Berlin and Stuttgart are planned from November 1, followed by Cologne/Bonn flights from November 3.
- British Airways: Dubai services are scheduled to return from November 3, while Abu Dhabi operations remain suspended until the winter 2027-28 season.
- Austrian Airlines: Dubai-Vienna services are expected to resume from December 12.
Air France has said its planned resumption remains subject to an assessment of the local security environment, which the airline described as rapidly evolving.
Five airlines looking to return in 2027
Air Canada is not the only international carrier whose Dubai suspension is set to extend into next year.
Based on the latest schedules provided, several other airlines are currently planning to restore Dubai services during 2027.
- Cathay Pacific: Dubai services are currently expected to resume in January 2027.
- Luxair: The airline has postponed the relaunch of its Dubai service until at least February 6, 2027.
- United Airlines: The carrier is planning to restore its Newark-Dubai route in March 2027.
- Finnair: Helsinki-Dubai services have been cancelled for the entire 2026-27 winter season, with the suspension extending through March 27, 2027.
- Virgin Atlantic: Direct services between London Heathrow and Dubai are expected to return for the winter 2027 season. Until then, the airline continues to provide year-round connectivity through its codeshare partners.
