Convective clouds may develop over eastern and southern areas as rising humidity increases fog risk.
Dubai: Temperatures could reach 47°C in parts of the UAE on Tuesday as the country experiences a five-day spell of hot and humid weather, with fog and mist possible and convective clouds expected to develop in some areas.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecast fair to partly cloudy conditions on Tuesday, with a chance of convective clouds developing over eastern areas in the afternoon. Temperatures in inland areas are expected to range from 21°C to 47°C, while coastal and island areas could see highs of between 37°C and 42°C.
Humidity is expected to rise overnight and into Wednesday morning across some coastal and inland areas, increasing the possibility of fog or mist. Winds will be light to moderate, occasionally freshening, while seas are expected to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
On Wednesday, conditions will remain fair to partly cloudy, with convective clouds possible over eastern and southern areas in the afternoon. Humidity will increase overnight and into Thursday morning over some western areas, bringing a chance of fog or mist. Winds could reach speeds of 35kph.
Thursday is expected to be fair to partly cloudy, becoming cloudy at times over eastern areas. Humid conditions overnight and into Friday morning could again lead to fog or mist in some coastal areas. South-easterly winds will gradually shift to north-westerly and may reach up to 30kph.
Generally fair weather is forecast for Friday and Saturday, although skies could become partly cloudy at times.
The NCM said humid conditions are expected to persist overnight, with a chance of fog or mist over some coastal and inland areas on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Winds will remain light to moderate, reaching up to 30kph, while seas will stay slight in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman throughout the period.
