Dubai: A 58-year-old Indian passenger died after experiencing a medical emergency aboard a Malaysia Airlines flight travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Sydney, despite attempts by cabin crew and fellow travellers to assist him.
The passenger fell ill during the flight on Wednesday, September 16, according to a statement from New South Wales Police cited by People Magazine.
Officers from the South Sydney Police Area Command were dispatched to the international terminal at Sydney Airport after authorities were notified of a medical emergency involving a passenger on a flight arriving from Kuala Lumpur.
Cabin crew members and fellow passengers provided first aid in an effort to assist the man, but attempts to revive him were unsuccessful. Authorities have not publicly disclosed his identity.
Police said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and indicated that no further police action was expected. The statement did not provide details about the specific medical emergency the passenger experienced.
