Etihad Airways Becomes Official Airline Partner of UAE Wrestling Federation

Etihad to Boost Athlete Development and Fan Engagement Through Events and Digital Platforms.

Etihad Airways has signed a memorandum of understanding with the UAE Wrestling Federation, becoming its official airline and strategic partner.

The agreement was formalised on the sidelines of the Arabian Travel Market at Dubai World Trade Centre. As part of the partnership, Etihad will support athlete development initiatives and strengthen fan engagement through sporting events and digital platforms. The airline will also secure naming rights for the federation’s main training centre.

Etihad Airways has entered into a memorandum of understanding with the UAE Wrestling Federation, becoming the organisation’s official airline and strategic partner.

The partnership was announced on the sidelines of the Arabian Travel Market at Dubai World Trade Centre. Under the agreement, Etihad will contribute to the federation’s athlete development programmes while supporting efforts to increase fan engagement through competitions and digital channels. The airline will also receive naming rights for the federation’s primary training centre.

The MoU was signed by Sheikh Hamdan bin Saeed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Secretary-General of the UAE Wrestling Federation, on behalf of the federation, and Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, representing Etihad Airways.

Commenting on the partnership, Sheikh Hamdan bin Saeed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Secretary-General of the UAE Wrestling Federation, said the collaboration with Etihad would open new avenues for cooperation and create opportunities to support athletes and national teams as they compete in championships and sporting events.

Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer at Etihad Airways, said the airline was proud to help showcase UAE athletes on the global stage. He added that the partnership underlines Etihad’s commitment to the country’s sporting ambitions and to supporting athletes representing the UAE internationally, while also helping share their achievements with audiences worldwide.

The agreement is the latest in a series of sponsorship partnerships between UAE national airlines and local sporting federations. The collaboration aims to strengthen cooperation between national organisations, contribute to the development of the country’s sports sector, and further enhance the UAE’s position as a leading destination for major sporting and international events.
