Dubai: Saudi Arabia’s Real Estate General Authority (REGA) has warned real estate brokers and service providers that regulatory violations could attract fines of up to SR200,000, along with the possible suspension or revocation of their licences.
The warning comes as the authority intensifies inspections across the kingdom’s real estate sector. More than 17,000 field inspections were conducted in August alone as part of efforts to strengthen regulatory compliance and oversight.
REGA said recent inspections uncovered several violations, including operating without a valid licence, failing to conduct due diligence when verifying information provided by property owners or beneficiaries, and omitting the licensee’s name or licence number from property advertisements.
The authority said the violations were identified during 39 joint inspection campaigns covering 369 real estate establishments across several regions of Saudi Arabia.
In August alone, REGA inspection teams conducted 17,182 field checks of real estate offices and property advertisements, uncovering a range of regulatory violations.
The authority said the inspections are part of its broader efforts to regulate the real estate sector, strengthen compliance and ensure that brokers and service providers adhere to the Real Estate Brokerage Law and its implementing regulations.
REGA urged brokers and other real estate service providers to familiarise themselves with the applicable regulations and violation categories to avoid penalties.
It also called on citizens and residents to report suspected regulatory violations or real estate fraud through the designated reporting channel on its official platform.
