Rain possible over eastern areas as convective clouds develop; mist expected overnight.
Dubai: Rain could fall over parts of the UAE on Wednesday as temperatures climb as high as 47°C, while stronger winds may stir up dust in some areas, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
The weather is expected to remain fair to partly cloudy, with convective clouds developing over eastern areas by the afternoon and bringing a chance of rainfall. Winds will be light to moderate but may strengthen at times, potentially causing blowing dust, particularly in western areas.
Temperatures are expected to reach 41°C to 47°C in inland areas, while coastal areas and islands could see highs of 37°C to 42°C. In the mountains, temperatures are forecast to peak between 30°C and 36°C.
Humidity is expected to rise overnight and into Thursday morning, creating the possibility of mist forming over some coastal and inland areas.
Unsettled weather is forecast to continue on Thursday and Friday, with convective clouds potentially developing over eastern and southern areas and bringing further rainfall. Winds could reach speeds of up to 45 km/h during periods of cloud activity, kicking up dust and reducing visibility. Fog or mist may also develop in some areas early on Friday.
The chance of afternoon rain will continue over eastern and southern areas through the weekend, although temperatures are expected to rise on Saturday.
On Sunday, skies are forecast to remain fair to partly cloudy, with convective clouds developing over eastern and southern areas and bringing a chance of rainfall. South-easterly to north-easterly winds will blow at 10-25 km/h and may strengthen at times to 35 km/h.
Seas are expected to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
