Fujairah Police Urge Teens to Avoid Reckless Driving, Dangerous Stunts and Night Gatherings

Fujairah Police Intensify Patrols Around Youth Gathering Spots.

As the UAE’s summer holidays enter their final weeks, Fujairah Police are stepping up field patrols and enforcement measures to curb risky behaviour among teenagers, while urging parents to keep a closer watch on their children.

The Masafi Comprehensive Police Station, in coordination with the Department of Media and Public Relations at Fujairah Police General Headquarters, has launched an intensified awareness campaign targeting reckless driving, unorganised group gatherings and dangerous stunts on public roads.

Police officials said the campaign is part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal and disruptive behaviour that tends to increase during the summer holiday period.

The initiative follows a rise in complaints from local residents concerned about groups of teenagers gathering late at night on public streets and residential roads, often engaging in dangerous driving stunts and creating excessive noise.

Police authorities said that while the extended summer break gives students an opportunity to relax, unsupervised late-night activities can sometimes lead to dangerous behaviour.

A senior Fujairah Police official said late-night gatherings in residential areas and rural bypasses can create serious public safety concerns, including excessive noise, property disturbances and dangerous street racing. The campaign, the official said, was launched in response to residents’ concerns and aims to maintain safety and order in local communities.

As part of the campaign, police have increased patrols and their visible presence around known gathering spots and quieter bypasses to intervene before unauthorised gatherings escalate. Authorities said traffic rules, speed limits and seatbelt requirements would be strictly enforced, with zero tolerance for stunt driving, driving without a valid licence or behaviour that puts other road users at risk.

Fujairah Police also stressed that families have an important role to play in preventing risky behaviour among teenagers, urging parents to take greater responsibility for supervising their children.

“Preventing dangerous road behaviour begins with parental accountability,” the official said, advising parents not to allow unlicensed teenagers to drive or overlook late-night activities. Setting clear boundaries at home and encouraging safe road behaviour, the official added, can help keep the community safe.

Police also urged residents to report suspicious late-night gatherings, illegal street racing and reckless driving through official police channels.
