The UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has made it easier for citizens to access essential travel and consular services while abroad with the launch of the Emirati Traveler Services Card, ‘Ounak’.
The card brings key travel and consular services for UAE nationals together on a single platform, giving Emirati travellers a centralised way to manage travel-related requirements and access assistance before and during their trips overseas.
Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport announced on Friday that the service is now available at the airport, allowing travellers to quickly access essential travel services through a QR code.
Key MoFA Services in One Place
Through the Ounak card, UAE nationals can access a range of MoFA services, including Twajudi registration. The service allows the ministry to keep track of Emirati citizens travelling abroad and provide timely assistance in emergencies.
Twajudi registration also ensures citizens receive 24/7 emergency assistance, important updates and rapid consular support during overseas crises or natural disasters.
The card also provides access to the Return Document service, allowing eligible UAE nationals who need to return to the country to obtain the required document within 30 minutes, provided they meet the necessary conditions and submit the required documents.
Ounak also gives travellers access to the emergency hotline for UAE nationals abroad, offering a direct channel to seek assistance from MoFA in emergencies or when consular support is required.
Check travel requirements before flying
Another key feature is the Travel Requirements by Destination service, which provides Emirati travellers with updated information on entry requirements and travel regulations for destinations worldwide.
Travellers can use the service to check the latest requirements for their destination before departure, helping them prepare the necessary documents and meet entry conditions.
By bringing these services together, the Ounak card offers UAE nationals a convenient, centralised way to access MoFA’s travel and consular services through a single platform.
