UAE Weather: Rain and Dust Expected Across Several Areas

Date:

UAE Weather: Temperatures to Reach 49°C Amid Unstable Conditions.

Abu Dhabi: The UAE is set for several days of unsettled weather, with the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasting thunderstorms, rain and strong winds in parts of the country through Tuesday. The conditions are being driven by an extension of a surface low-pressure system combined with a weak upper-air trough.

On Saturday, skies are expected to remain fair to partly cloudy, with dusty conditions at times. Convective clouds are likely to develop in the afternoon over some areas, potentially bringing rainfall and gusty winds.

The clouds are expected to bring rain of varying intensity, accompanied by southeasterly to northeasterly winds of 10–25kph. Winds may strengthen to 50kph at times as clouds develop, stirring up dust and reducing visibility. Seas are expected to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

Temperatures are expected to remain high across the UAE, with maximums reaching 49°C in inland areas. Abu Dhabi and Al Ain could see highs of 46°C, while temperatures in Dubai and Sharjah may reach 45°C. Ras Al Khaimah is forecast to hit 46°C, Liwa 48°C, and Ruwais and Al Sila 47°C. Fujairah is expected to be comparatively cooler at 39°C.

Humidity levels could reach 85 per cent in some coastal and island areas.

The NCM said unsettled conditions are expected to persist over the coming days.

On Sunday, convective clouds are likely to develop over eastern, southern and inland areas, bringing further rainfall and gusty winds of up to 50kph.

Monday is expected to be fair to partly cloudy, with a chance of afternoon showers over eastern and southern areas. Winds could reach 40kph.

By Tuesday, temperatures are forecast to gradually ease, particularly along coastal areas. Skies will remain partly cloudy, while northwesterly winds are expected to replace southeasterly winds later in the day.

Isolated afternoon showers may continue over eastern areas on Wednesday as the unsettled weather pattern gradually weakens.
