UAE weather forecast: Temperatures soar to 50°C as rain chances continue

Date:

NCM forecasts convective clouds, dust-laden winds and high temperatures until Monday.

Dubai: The UAE is set to see fair to partly cloudy conditions, with the possibility of convective clouds and rainfall in some areas through Monday. Temperatures in inland regions could rise to 50°C, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

The NCM said weather conditions in the coming days will be influenced by an extension of a surface low-pressure system from the east, along with an upper-air low-pressure system, creating favourable conditions for the development of convective clouds.

Rain is expected mainly across eastern and southern regions on Thursday and Friday, with showers likely to extend to some inland areas on Saturday. On Sunday, convective clouds are forecast to develop over eastern and western parts of the country, before moving back towards eastern and southern areas on Monday.

Light to moderate south-easterly to north-easterly winds are expected, occasionally becoming stronger at speeds of 40–45 km/h, leading to blowing dust in some areas. Sea conditions will remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.

Temperatures are forecast to reach highs of 45°C to 50°C in inland areas and between 42°C and 47°C along coastal regions on Thursday.
