Engineers can now monitor up to three times more rigs while reducing downtime by two days.

Dubai: ADNOC has rolled out an artificial intelligence platform across more than 120 drilling rigs, enabling engineers to detect operational issues earlier and prevent up to two days of downtime.
The AI-powered system is designed to enhance drilling efficiency by providing faster insights, improving decision-making and supporting more proactive management of operations.
Developed in partnership with energy technology company SLB, the AI-enabled Real-Time Operations Center links ADNOC’s onshore and offshore drilling rigs through a unified platform, providing engineers with real-time visibility into drilling activities across the fleet.
The system has reduced engineering workload by 30 per cent to 40 per cent, enabling engineers to oversee two to three times more rigs while maintaining effective operational control.
Reports generated within hours
Automated dashboards and AI-driven performance insights analyse large volumes of drilling data and convert them into actionable operational intelligence. The technology has shortened reporting cycles from several days to just a few hours, improving the speed of decision-making.
According to ADNOC, tasks that previously required a full day of analysis can now be completed within minutes using the AI-enabled system.
The analysis of real-time rig data also helps teams detect potential issues before they escalate, reducing incident response times by four to 12 hours and helping prevent one to two days of rig downtime.
One platform unifies rig operations
The platform uses SLB’s DrillOps intelligent well delivery and insights solutions to integrate live drilling data into a single digital environment, enabling teams to monitor operations more efficiently and make faster, data-driven decisions.
Business, asset and drilling teams can use the system to monitor activities across the rig fleet, identify potential risks earlier and coordinate operational decisions more effectively.

Operational data remains in the UAE
The platform has been deployed across ADNOC Drilling’s rig fleet to support operations at ADNOC Onshore and ADNOC Offshore, while ensuring operational data remains hosted within the UAE.
Developed in the UAE and hosted on ADNOC’s cloud environment, the system ensures that critical operational data and workflows remain within the country.
