Abu Dhabi Police have urged motorists to avoid carrying more passengers than their vehicles are designed to accommodate, warning that overloading increases road safety risks and can lead to serious injuries or fatalities in the event of an accident.
The force stressed that complying with the approved passenger capacity of a vehicle is an essential road safety measure, noting that some drivers continue to underestimate the dangers associated with the violation.
Police said overloaded vehicles can leave passengers without access to seat belts, affect the driver’s ability to maintain control and increase the likelihood of accidents. Motorists were urged to prioritise passenger safety at all times and avoid taking risks that could endanger lives.
