Dubai: Dubai Airports has launched a new service enabling passengers to check their eligibility for Smart Gates before arriving at passport control, helping streamline immigration procedures and create a smoother airport experience.
Developed in collaboration with Dubai’s General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), the Smart Gates Pre-Eligibility Verification service offers travellers instant confirmation on whether they are eligible to use the automated passport gates.
The service can be accessed through the Pocket Flights platform or by scanning QR codes available throughout airport terminals and at boarding gates.
Dubai Airports said the initiative aims to give passengers clarity on their Smart Gates eligibility before reaching immigration, allowing them to move through the airport more efficiently and enjoy a smoother travel experience.
The airport operator added that the new feature is part of its continued efforts to enhance passenger services, simplify processes and provide faster, more seamless journeys for millions of travellers using Dubai International Airport.
