Abu Dhabi justice system strengthened under new order from Sheikh Mansour.

Abu Dhabi: His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, in his capacity as Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD), has issued Resolution No. 40 of 2026 establishing a specialised court to handle human trafficking crimes in Abu Dhabi.
The resolution is part of continued efforts to strengthen the emirate’s specialised judicial framework and ensure the highest standards of justice are delivered efficiently. It also represents a major step towards enhancing legal protection measures while upholding human dignity and safeguarding individual rights.
Under the principle of comprehensive judicial specialisation, the new court introduces an integrated procedural framework within its organisational structure. The system begins with a specialised Public Prosecution unit tasked with investigating and prosecuting human trafficking offences, and extends to Courts of First Instance and Courts of Appeal responsible for handling related cases.
The integrated approach aims to improve judicial efficiency, streamline procedures and ensure faster resolution of human trafficking cases.
To reinforce the overall protection framework and consolidate efforts, the resolution grants the newly established court jurisdiction over all human trafficking cases arising within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
It also requires existing courts handling such cases to transfer them to the specialised court, unless the proceedings have already concluded, ensuring that all human trafficking matters are addressed through a dedicated judicial system.
The ADJD Undersecretary will issue the necessary decisions to implement the resolution and ensure the court carries out its responsibilities effectively and efficiently.
