New digital parking system launches at Yas Marina, Yas Bay, and West Yas Plaza starting July 6.

Abu Dhabi: Parking at several of Yas Island’s busiest attractions is going fully digital, allowing visitors to enter and exit without paper tickets, cash payments, or physical barriers.
From July 6, motorists visiting Yas Marina, Yas Bay Waterfront, and West Yas Plaza will use a new smart parking system that automatically recognises vehicle number plates and, where applicable, deducts parking fees via Salik, Yas Island said in a statement on Monday.
The system, introduced in partnership with PARKONIC, uses automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) technology to identify vehicles on entry and exit. Parking charges are calculated automatically, enabling drivers to leave without stopping to make a payment.
Parking charges
At Yas Bay Waterfront, visitors will be charged Dh20 for the first hour, followed by Dh10 for every additional hour thereafter.
Customers dining at participating restaurants can enjoy up to three hours of free parking, while gym and beach visitors are eligible for up to six hours of complimentary parking per day, subject to validation.
At Yas Marina, the parking rates mirror those at Yas Bay Waterfront—Dh20 for the first hour and Dh10 for each additional hour. Diners can also receive three hours of free parking, while gym users may claim up to six hours with validation.
At West Yas Plaza, parking will be free for the first hour, after which motorists will be charged Dh10 for every additional hour.
No tickets or barriers
The new system is fully ticketless and barrier-free, using cameras to scan licence plates on entry and exit, eliminating the need for physical tickets or payment machines.
For drivers linked to a Salik account, parking fees are automatically deducted from their Salik wallet unless an alternative payment method is selected.
Those without a Salik account can pay via SMS or through the official PARKONIC mobile app.
Unlike public parking systems operated by Dubai’s RTA and Abu Dhabi’s Mawafiq, PARKONIC-managed zones apply charges 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including weekends and public holidays.
PARKONIC is the UAE’s largest private parking operator, managing barrier-free parking systems across commercial, residential, and private developments nationwide through its partnership with DFM-listed Salik.
