Dubai carrier becomes first UAE airline to operate direct flights to Benghazi.

Dubai: flydubai has launched direct flights to Benghazi, becoming the first UAE airline to operate services to the Libyan city.
The Dubai-based airline will operate three weekly flights to Benghazi Benina International Airport, expanding its African network to 13 destinations in nine countries.
Flights will depart from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Return Economy Class Lite fares from Dubai to Benghazi start at Dh4,500, while Business Class fares begin at Dh10,500.
The inaugural flight touched down in Benghazi to a traditional water cannon salute and was welcomed by local airport officials, marking the launch of the new route to Libya.
The new service provides passengers with a direct connection between Dubai and North Africa, while boosting travel, trade and tourism ties between the UAE and Libya.
flydubai said the Benghazi service will be available through its codeshare partnership with Emirates, enabling passengers to book seamless journeys on a single ticket, benefit from through check-in of baggage and access an expanded combined network.
Flight FZ1147 will depart Dubai at 6.50am and arrive in Benghazi at 10.45am local time. The return service, FZ1148, will leave Benghazi at 11.45am and land in Dubai at 7.15pm.
Return Economy Class Lite fares from Benghazi to Dubai start at $800, while Business Class fares begin at $2,500.
Tickets can be booked through flydubai’s website and mobile app, as well as via its UAE contact centre, travel shops and authorised travel partners.
