Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health has tightened oversight of medical examinations for expatriate workers, warning that healthcare facilities found violating approved procedures could face fines of up to SR100,000.
The ministry said the campaign is designed to enhance the quality and reliability of medical testing, ensure the accuracy of results, strengthen compliance with approved health regulations, and protect public health standards.
As part of the initiative, inspectors will ensure that medical examination procedures comply with official standards, laboratory equipment is correctly calibrated and maintained, and that technical staff meet the required qualifications and competency levels.
The campaign will also focus on practices that could compromise the integrity or accuracy of medical examination results, the ministry said.
In addition to financial penalties, violations may lead to the temporary closure of healthcare facilities for up to 60 days or the revocation of their operating licences.
The ministry said it will continue inspection and monitoring efforts to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safeguard public health.
