Where Arab Teams Will Stay at the 2026 World Cup: A Guide

Date:

From Portland to Spokane, Here’s Where Arab Teams Will Stay.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 is set to be the largest edition in the tournament’s history, featuring 48 teams and a record 104 matches across 16 host cities in the United States, Canada and Mexico. For the first time, the event will be co-hosted by three countries and will run from June 11 to July 19.

The scale of the tournament is unprecedented, with many stadiums in the United States exceeding capacities of 70,000 spectators, and early group-stage matches expected to challenge or even surpass previous attendance records. With venues spanning from Vancouver to Mexico City, some teams could travel more than 8,000 kilometres during the group stage. The expanded format also means that finalists will now play eight matches instead of the previous seven.

A record eight Arab nations have secured qualification for the tournament. Morocco national football team, Egypt national football team, Saudi Arabia national football team, Algeria national football team, Tunisia national football team, Qatar national football team, Iraq national football team and Jordan national football team will all represent the Arab world at football’s biggest global stage.

Preparations: Pre-tournament training and base camps

As teams gear up for the FIFA World Cup 2026, pre-tournament preparations will play a crucial role in shaping performance on football’s biggest stage. National squads will establish dedicated training camps and base facilities designed to support tactical planning, fitness conditioning and team cohesion ahead of the competition.

These base camps will serve as central hubs where players and coaching staff fine-tune strategies, adapt to local conditions and build chemistry before the tournament begins. With the expanded format and increased travel demands across host cities in the United States, Canada and Mexico, carefully selected training environments will be essential in ensuring teams remain well-prepared and competitive throughout the event.

Preparations are entering their final stage. The official 26-player squads were submitted to FIFA by June 1 and announced on June 2. While several teams, including Japan and Australia, have opted to hold pre-tournament training camps outside their designated base camp locations, most squads are now either arriving at or travelling to their World Cup bases ahead of the opening match on June 11.

For the Arab nations, preparations are spread across North America, from the US West Coast to the Midwest, East Coast and Mexico. Each team has chosen a base camp designed to balance training needs, travel logistics and proximity to match venues.
