Elite athletes triumph at the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Jiu-Jitsu championship.

Mubadala Arena hosted a three-day showcase of high-intensity jiu-jitsu competition featuring top-ranked athletes from around the world.

Abu Dhabi: Leading athletes competing in the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Jiu-Jitsu Championship praised the high level of competition throughout the season, underscoring Abu Dhabi’s growing reputation as one of the world’s leading destinations for the sport.

Held over three days at Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City, the championship attracted strong international participation and featured elite competition across multiple divisions.

Cameroonian athlete Pablo Maiko of the Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu Club said his gold medal, earned after three tough bouts, reflected the high level of competition and the strong calibre of participants.

Binov of Tajikistan, representing Alliance Rio Team, described his debut in the championship as an exceptional experience, praising the event’s international standing and professional organization.

Haya Al Jahouri of Bani Yas Club and the UAE national team said the growing number of international participants reflects the championship’s rising global profile and offers Emirati athletes valuable exposure to elite-level competition.

Bahraini athlete Mohammed Al Najjar, bronze medallist in the brown belt division, said earning a medal amid such strong competition was a significant achievement.

Abdulaziz Saud, who secured third place in the adult category, said the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Jiu-Jitsu Championship becomes increasingly competitive with each edition due to the participation of internationally experienced athletes.
