The public has been advised to use bridges and tunnels to ensure their safety.

Abu Dhabi Police have called on pedestrians to use designated bridges, tunnels and crossings to stay safe and help reduce road accidents.

The appeal comes as part of GCC Traffic Week 2026, held under the theme “I Cross Safely”, and aligns with efforts to enhance smart road safety and promote a sustainable, forward-looking traffic system.

Police warned that crossing roads at undesignated areas is a risky behaviour that endangers both pedestrians and motorists.

They noted that the country’s advanced infrastructure — including pedestrian bridges, tunnels and surface crossings — is designed to ensure safe and seamless movement across roads.

Authorities also urged the public to act responsibly, follow traffic guidelines and use designated crossing facilities, emphasising that road safety is a shared responsibility requiring collective efforts to protect lives.
