Pakistan Embassy in the UAE and Saudi Arabia have resumed passport processing services after a temporary suspension, allowing applicants to once again apply for and renew travel documents.

Date:

The mission in the UAE had announced on April 29 that passport services were temporarily suspended due to technical and maintenance issues.

The Embassy of Pakistan in the UAE on Tuesday (May 5) announced the resumption of passport processing services at its premises. Applicants can now visit the embassy to apply for new passports or renew their travel documents starting May 5, the mission said.

On April 29, the embassy had temporarily suspended passport services due to technical and maintenance reasons.

It had urged Pakistani nationals in the UAE to either apply for passports online or wait for further instructions from the embassy. The mission also clarified in a post on X that the community would be informed immediately once services resumed.

The Pakistani Embassy in Saudi Arabia also confirmed that passport services in the Kingdom resumed on May 5, allowing applicants to once again visit the mission for passport-related services.

Earlier, the embassy in Abu Dhabi had announced that it would remain closed on Friday, May 1, 2026, on the occasion of Labour Day, and reopened on Monday (May 4).

Meanwhile, the Embassy of Pakistan in Qatar said on Sunday (May 3) that passport processing services at its premises had been suspended until further notice.

In a post on social media platform X, the mission said the temporary suspension was due to technical issues at Passport Headquarters in Islamabad.

“The resumption of passport services will be announced on our social media platforms. We apologise for the inconvenience,” the embassy added.
