Global Village: How to score the best end-of-season bargains

Date:

Why now is the best time to bargain at Global Village pavilions.

With only a few weeks left, visitors to Dubai’s popular multicultural destination have one last chance to shop, bargain and take home unique finds from around the world.

Global Village is entering its final stretch, with Season 30 scheduled to close on May 10. For those who have not visited yet — or are planning one final trip — the countdown is on.

The park reopened on April 20 after an extended closure due to safety precautions linked to regional tensions in the Middle East.

In the final weeks, shoppers can expect more opportunities to negotiate prices across the pavilions. Bargaining, a long-standing part of the experience, becomes more common toward the end of the season as vendors look to clear remaining stock. Visitors are encouraged to compare items across different stalls and speak with sellers to secure the best deals.

What to shop for

The destination continues to offer a wide variety of products, from traditional goods to modern items. Fashion lovers can explore pavilions such as Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, where abayas and gowns range from simple everyday styles to intricately embroidered statement pieces.

For accessories, pavilions such as China and Thailand offer jewellery and handcrafted pieces that combine traditional influences with modern design. These range from subtle everyday accessories to bold statement items.

Home décor and lifestyle finds

Home décor remains another major attraction, with pavilions like Morocco and Iraq showcasing handcrafted furnishings and decorative pieces. Lanterns, rugs and ornamental items continue to be popular choices for visitors looking to add character to their homes.

Food and pantry staples

Food remains a central part of the experience. Pavilions such as Yemen and Lebanon offer a range of dates, honey, oils and cheeses commonly used in traditional dishes, while the India pavilion features a wide selection of spices for those looking to recreate rich, bold flavours at home.

About Global Village

First opened in 1997, Global Village has grown into one of the region’s largest multicultural destinations. Over the years, it has welcomed more than 100 million visitors, with the previous season alone attracting 10.5 million guests.

Season 30 features 30 pavilions representing more than 90 cultures, along with thousands of retail outlets and hundreds of dining options. The venue also hosts live entertainment, with thousands of shows staged throughout the season, in addition to rides and games at its Carnaval area.
