Abdalla Salem Al Balooshi claimed gold in the men’s C4 qualifying race.

Dubai: The UAE national para-cycling team continued its impressive performance at the 2026 Asian Para Track Championships in Tagaytay, Philippines, adding a gold and two silver medals to their overall tally of three.
Leading the way, Abdalla Salem Al Balooshi won gold in the men’s C4 qualifying race. With a composed and tactical ride, Al Balooshi finished ahead of Uzbekistan’s Abror Ibrayimov, who took silver, and Indonesia’s Muhammad Fadli Imamuddin, who claimed bronze. This victory marked Al Balooshi’s second medal of the championships, following a silver on the opening day.
In the women’s events, Salama Al Khatri, also Vice Chair of the Asian Paralympic Committee Athletes’ Committee, contributed to the team’s success with a silver medal in the women’s C5 1km time trial. She finished behind Uzbekistan’s Nurkabilova Jasmina, who took gold, and ahead of India’s Lisha Das, who claimed bronze. Al Khatri’s podium finish highlighted her sustained consistency over the years.
The UAE team began its campaign with a silver medal, earned by Al Balooshi in the men’s elite 1km time trial — C4, setting the stage for a strong championship.
Reflecting on his gold medal win, Al Balooshi attributed his success to focused preparation and disciplined execution.
