HealthTech at the Core of Dubai’s Next-Generation Healthcare Strategy

Dubai: Dubai Health and the Dubai Future District Fund (DFDF) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening the emirate’s global position in the HealthTech sector, in line with Dubai’s D33 economic agenda.

Under the agreement, the two entities will collaborate to build a robust HealthTech and TechBio ecosystem, supporting high-impact ventures and driving innovation across areas such as biotechnology, digital health, AI-powered diagnostics, drug discovery, robotics, medical devices, and personalised medicine.

Officials said the partnership will bring together public and private sector expertise, enabling the development of globally relevant clinical and commercial evidence.

Startups and Innovation
The memorandum was signed by Atif Al Braiki, Chief Digital and AI Officer at Dubai Health, and Nader Albastaki, Managing Director at the Dubai Future District Fund.

Albastaki noted that Dubai is uniquely positioned to serve as a launchpad for healthcare innovation, citing its strong infrastructure, supportive policies, and growing investment ecosystem.

Leadership Perspective
“By partnering with Dubai Health, we are laying the groundwork for a sustainable, innovation-driven health economy—one that not only meets regional needs but also helps shape the future of healthcare globally,” said Nader Albastaki, Managing Director at the Dubai Future District Fund.

For his part, Atif Al Braiki, Chief Digital and AI Officer at Dubai Health, emphasized the importance of creating an enabling environment for emerging technologies and startups.

“This collaboration marks a significant step in strengthening healthcare innovation in Dubai. Together with DFDF, we are committed to advancing health for humanity and reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global hub for HealthTech innovation,” Al Braiki said.

Research and Impact
The collaboration will also focus on leveraging academic research and translating it into real-world outcomes.

By supporting knowledge transfer, intellectual property development, and innovation, the partnership aims to deliver tangible benefits for patients while further strengthening Dubai’s growing HealthTech ecosystem.
