Sharjah implements emergency measures amid heavy rainfall.

SHARJAH: The Sharjah Civil Defence Authority has boosted its field readiness in response to ongoing unstable weather across the UAE, including heavy rainfall, strong winds, and reduced visibility, which could lead to localized water accumulation.

These measures are designed to ensure swift emergency response, safeguard lives and property, and strengthen overall community safety.

Field teams and specialised equipment have been deployed across key locations, flood-prone areas, and wadi beds in coordination with relevant authorities.

It has further reinforced round-the-clock monitoring and tracking systems to ensure swift action and minimize response delays in severe weather conditions.

Emergency plans have been activated, personnel readiness has been enhanced, and deployment points have been adjusted to respond to evolving weather conditions.

Continuous coordination with strategic partners ensures that appropriate measures are implemented promptly.

Brigadier General Yousef Obaid Harmoul Al Shamsi, Director General of the Sharjah Civil Defence Authority, said: “We are addressing the current weather situation with a proactive approach, guided by operational readiness and advance planning. Our teams, vehicles, and equipment are fully prepared for rapid and effective emergency response.”

The Authority urged residents to follow official guidelines, avoid flood-prone areas and wadis, stay away from the sea and beaches, and exercise caution while driving—reducing speed and maintaining safe distances to minimize accidents.

Sharjah Civil Defence continues to run awareness campaigns and field programs to foster a culture of prevention. Public cooperation and adherence to official instructions are essential for minimizing risks from weather fluctuations and ensuring community safety during this period.
