Ministry of Interior provides safety guidelines for thunderstorms and hail.

Abu Dhabi: The UAE’s Ministry of Interior has issued safety guidelines for residents as parts of the country experience unstable weather, including thunderstorms and hail.

Authorities urged the public to stay indoors during severe conditions and avoid going outside unless absolutely necessary, emphasising that precautionary behaviour is key to preventing injuries and accidents during sudden weather changes.

The ministry also advised residents to protect vehicles and outdoor property by covering them where possible. Motorists were reminded to strictly follow speed limits, maintain safe distances, and drive with extra caution on wet roads.

Those caught outdoors during hail were advised to seek immediate shelter in a safe, enclosed location, while drivers were urged to park in secure areas and remain inside their vehicles if conditions worsen.

The guidelines come as the UAE faces a period of unstable spring weather, with rain, strong winds, and occasional hail reported across several areas.
