NCEMA is monitoring upcoming weather conditions and taking proactive measures to mitigate potential impacts.

Date:

Authorities are preparing for potential weather-related impacts expected next week.

ABU DHABI: The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), in coordination with the Ministry of Interior, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), and several partners, convened a meeting of the Joint Assessment Team for Weather and Tropical Conditions to monitor and assess the expected weather developments for the coming week.

During the meeting, the latest data and analyses from the NCM were reviewed, indicating that most regions of the country are likely to experience unstable weather conditions next week.

Rainfall of varying intensity is expected, potentially accompanied by hail, along with active winds that may stir up dust and sand, occasionally reducing horizontal visibility. Sea conditions are also forecast to be rough at times, though generally with light to moderate waves.

As part of proactive measures, the team discussed enhancing national readiness and preparedness for potential weather developments. This includes closely monitoring the weather’s path and direction, ensuring the activation of business continuity plans, and issuing preventive guidelines and advisories to the public through official channels.

These efforts are part of coordinated collaboration among the relevant authorities, aimed at ensuring community safety, protecting lives, property, and infrastructure, and enhancing the country’s readiness and response to varying weather conditions.
