Find out why and where Municipality has expanded its free network of beach libraries

Dubai: A new beach library has opened in Dubai, offering residents and visitors another perfect reason to relax by the sea with a good book.
Dubai Municipality announced the launch of the library at Jumeirah Beach 2 on its official social media platforms, encouraging beachgoers to explore a free collection of books and enjoy reading by the waves.
Dubai Municipality also highlighted the initiative with the Month of Reading hashtag #UAEReads.
A short video shared alongside the announcement showed a young boy flipping through a book at the new beach library.
Free for all
The Jumeirah Beach 2 library, which also operates as a night beach, is part of Dubai Municipality’s expanding network of beach libraries. The first was launched at Kite Beach, and the plan is to establish eight on-beach libraries across the city.
All beach libraries are free to use. Visitors can simply stroll up, select a book that interests them, and enjoy reading by the shore.
The collections include a wide range of titles in Arabic and English, spanning literature, history, and children’s stories.
