The project highlights the expanding collaboration between Dubai Awqaf and Lulu Group.
Dubai: Lulu Group has launched a new Lulu Express store at Khawaneej Gate, Al Khawaneej-2, Dubai. The store has been developed by the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation as part of its endowment projects in the city.
The opening represents a collaborative initiative between Dubai Awqaf and Lulu Group, aimed at providing essential retail services to residents while supporting sustainable endowment revenues that fund community initiatives across the emirate.
The store was inaugurated by Essa Abdullah Al Ghurair, Chairman of the Awqaf & Minors Affairs Foundation, in the presence of Ali Mohammed Al Mutawa, Secretary-General of Awqaf, and Yusuffali M.A., Chairman of Lulu Group, along with other officials and distinguished guests.
This launch is part of the Al Khawaneej Endowment Mall project, designed to benefit local residents while generating sustainable income from endowment assets. Proceeds from such projects contribute to mosque maintenance and various community initiatives throughout Dubai.
“The launch reflects Awqaf’s strategy to develop high-quality endowment projects that generate sustainable returns while supporting social and community initiatives in Dubai,” said Essa Abdullah Al Ghurair.
He added that the foundation is broadening its development-oriented endowment projects through strategic partnerships with the private sector to maximize the impact and long-term sustainability of its endowment resources.
Al Mutawa stated that the foundation remains committed to developing modern endowment projects that strengthen the financial sustainability of endowment assets while addressing community needs.
“The project reflects the growing partnership between Dubai Awqaf and Lulu Group. We plan to operate more than 16 additional projects being developed by Awqaf across the region,” said Yusuffali M.A., Chairman of Lulu Group.
The new Lulu Express store covers approximately 19,800 square feet and features dedicated sections for groceries, fresh produce, meat and seafood, bakery items, health and beauty products, and mobile accessories. The store also offers ample parking and self-checkout counters to ensure a convenient shopping experience.
