Oman Air launches new service to Tashkent.

Date:

Oman Air will start direct flights between Muscat and Tashkent beginning in June 2026.

Muscat – Oman Air has announced the launch of direct flights between Muscat and Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, starting of June 2026.

The new service will operate with two flights per week, providing travellers with convenient access between the two capitals and enhancing air connectivity between the Sultanate of Oman and the Central Asian region: this will be the eight destination announced by the company since last December.

Tashkent, one of Uzbekistan’s largest cities, is emerging as a popular tourist destination, celebrated for its distinctive culture, historic landmarks, and lively green spaces.

The introduction of these flights is expected to enhance inbound tourism to the Sultanate of Oman while further strengthening trade relations and cultural exchange between the two nations. As historic hubs along the Silk Road, Oman and Uzbekistan share deep-rooted cultural connections, offering travellers the chance to experience two unique yet historically linked destinations.

Oman Air CEO Con Korfiatis stated that the launch of the Tashkent route aligns with the airline’s ongoing strategy to develop a commercially sustainable network that balances point-to-point demand with expansion into promising strategic markets.

He added that Central Asia is becoming an increasingly significant region for both leisure and business travel. The new service supports Oman’s wider tourism objectives by attracting visitors from Uzbekistan and neighbouring countries. With a flight time of approximately four hours, the route provides Oman Air passengers with convenient and seamless access to one of Central Asia’s most appealing destinations, whether travelling for tourism or business.
