Police warned drivers to take care on the roads as the UAE woke to a wet start on Sunday.
Rain affected several areas on the coast before sunrise, including the far west and a stretch from Abu Dhabi city to Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
It will rain for most of the day. But the showers will mainly be light in Abu Dhabi city, with the heaviest rain confined to Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
Abu Dhabi Police called on drivers to “exercise caution due to the rainy weather and to follow the changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards”.
It will also be dusty at times, as winds, which will be strong at times, kick up dust and sand.
Temperatures will reach 27°C inland and 25°C on the coast and islands.
Conditions will be rough in the Arabian Gulf and moderate to rough in the Oman Sea.
After a rainy start in Abu Dhabi, Monday will be drier across the UAE.
It has been an exceptionally wet start to 2022, with more than 18 months’ worth of rain falling in just a few days earlier in the month.
