Dubai banned truck movements on key road at Day-time

Date:

The day-time ban on truck movement on key Dubai roads will be implemented again from July 4, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and the police announced on Wednesday.

Trucks with a tare weight of more than 2.5 tonnes are banned from 6am to 10pm on Al Ittihad and Sheikh Zayed Roads; and the road connecting them from the Sheikh Rashid Street and Downtown Deira/Bur Dubai.

A partial ban also applies at all other Dubai roads at three peak times: 6.30am to 8.30am; 1pm to 3pm; and 5.30pm to 8pm.

A permanent ban is in force on the Airport and Shindagha Tunnels, Al Maktoum and Floating Bridges as well as the Business Bay Crossing.

The ban had been temporarily lifted in March to streamline the delivery of consumables to the market as residents stayed home as a precautionary measure against the spread of Covid-19.
